Long-Sleeve Wedding Dresses

Well, I have no reason to be looking at wedding dresses, I'm only 17. However, pretty dresses make me happy.
So, I thought I'd write a post about an under-appreciated style of wedding dress that I sometimes like a lot--the long-sleeved wedding dress. I know what you're thinking..."wedding dresses with long sleeves are frumpy and old-fashioned." Here are some examples, though, that could prove that stereotype incorrect. These are some of my favorite wedding dresses that I've seen on the internet, and they just happen to have sleeves.
First of all we have this number from Etsy.com. It's simple, but elegant and unique.

Then there's this Kleinfeld Kollection beauty that I found on theKnot.com. This has to be one of my favorite wedding dresses that I've found, and I think I spied it worn by Broadway star Lea Salonga at her wedding...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ji3bEFoBYtA

And I'm not sure where this one's from, but it was in one of my files. The bodice could be considered old-fashioned, but the gathered skirt keeps it modern.

Then there's this stunner that I found through Goole Images on AngelMarry.com. I think it would take a lot of confidence to pull off this dress. If someone were at all unsure about this dress, they'd be swallowed up in ruffles, but it is absolutely gorgeous.

And while this isn't an actual wedding dress, Padme's dress from Star Wars: Ep. II is gorgeous. I love everything about it--especially the veil. And just look at those sleeves. I found this picture on thePadawansGuide.com.

  1. I wore Lea Salonga's Monique Lhullier wedding dress for my wedding as well (October 17, 2009). I received tons of compliments on it! I was going for a "Grace Kelly look" low and behold, Kate Middleton shows up in a very similar style. So, it appears that you (and I perhaps) were ahead of the times. Your wedding isn't a place to be sexy. It's a place to be innocent, beautiful, and timeless.
